Admission Requirements for Higher Education in Kazakhstan

General Admission Requirements
Students must have completed higher secondary education in order to gain admittance into the higher education institutions in Kazakhstan.
Candidates are also required to submit a proof of proficiency in the language in which the course is taught. Mostly in Kazakh or Russian, as many programmes are offered in these languages. Also, there are programmes in English or other languages.
Students in order to take admission into the university in Kazakhstan must appear for an entrance exam- “Unified National Test (Edinoe Nacional'noe Testirovanie)
” or “Comprehensive Test (CT)”. This exam can be undertaken in Kazakh or Russian and is based on the general secondary curriculum. Four subjects are covered in the exam, out of which three are mandatory: Kazakh or Russian language, mathematics and history. The fourth subject is selected by the student as per his/her interest.
Students who pass the exam get a diploma- the Certificat o Rezul'tatah EH. This diploma enables students to apply into the universities in Kazakhstan.
Candidates must apply directly to the higher education institution of their choice. Fill in an application form and submit it along with the necessary documents to the concerned institution of higher education in Kazakhstan. The application procedure varies from institution to institution. Some of the higher education institutions have online application system, and require hard copy of the application of the application along with the documents. The application package must be sent on time.
